From the first scan to the handover – no app, and nobody has to reveal personal details.

  1. Finder scans

    Scan the QR code with the camera app – no download needed.

    Any phone camera recognises the QR code and opens the finder page in the browser. If the code is only printed as text – on the slim glasses sticker, for example – the finder types it into the search field on bee-id.com.

    On the finder page they say what they found and where – with a photo and location if they like. They do not need an account.

  2. Chat opens

    Directly in the browser – anonymous, encrypted, instant.

    If the finder wants to chat, they set a four-digit PIN. Only they can get back into the chat with it, later on too by scanning again. They can also just report the find without chatting.

    Messages are transmitted and stored encrypted. Photos and PDFs up to 5 MB can be attached, and your contact details stay hidden.

  3. You get notified

    Push, SMS or email – your item has been found.

    As soon as the finder sends the report, Bee-ID notifies you by email – with the place it was found and, if provided, a map link. With the HIVE-PASS you also get a push notification and an SMS.

    Bee-ID also notifies you of every new chat message from the finder by email, and with the HIVE-PASS by push as well.

  4. Location or handover

    If the item is lying deep in the woods, the finder sends you their location as a map link in the chat. Otherwise you meet up, or they leave it at a reception desk or lost-property office – your address stays private.

    If the item is somewhere you cannot hand anything in – in the woods, on a farm track, at a playground – the finder sends their location as a map link with one tap. Otherwise you arrange to meet in the chat, or they name where they handed it in.

    Once everything is settled, you mark the case as “Resolved”. After 30 days Bee-ID automatically deletes the report and the chat.

Entry into the swarm network – incl. 365 days of protection

The A-Code is a premium tag with an engraved QR code and 8-digit code (e.g. ABEEDEMO). It's perfect for keys, suitcases or backpacks and automatically includes a HIVE-PASS for 365 days.

No account needed – you can simply buy and gift the A-Code. After scanning the QR code, you're guided step by step through registration and immediately receive your 365-day HIVE-PASS.

Already a customer? The new HIVE-PASS runs alongside an existing one – or you pass the tag on to a friend.

B-Code · Slim Sticker · 2 mm

For glasses, laptops & narrow surfaces

The B-Code is an ultra-thin text sticker (only approx. 2 mm wide) that fits on glasses temples, laptop edges or other narrow surfaces. Instead of a QR code, it carries a short shortcode that the finder enters on bee‑id.com.

How it works:
Apply sticker → finder reads "Found? bee‑id.com › BKELGOXR" → enters the code on the site → anonymous chat opens.

C-Code · Extension · no subscription

More protection for existing members

The C-Code is the extension for Bee-ID members with an active HIVE-PASS. Available as a tag, sticker or (coming soon) NFC tag – it does not include its own subscription.

Requirement: active HIVE-PASS (trial or full member). Only then can the C-Code be added to the account and used.

Tip: Start with an A-Code – then add as many C-Codes as you like for all your valuables.

Frequently asked questions

Does the finder need to install an app?
No. The finder simply scans the QR code with their regular camera app or enters the code on bee-id.com. The chat opens directly in the browser – no download, no registration.
Can the finder see my name or address?
No. The finder sees neither your name nor your address or phone number – only that they've found a lost item – and can send you an anonymous message. You decide what you share about yourself.
What's the difference between A-, B- and C-Code?
The A-Code is an engraved tag with a QR code and directly includes a HIVE-PASS for 365 days – ideal as a starter or gift, no existing account needed.

The B-Code is an ultra-thin slim sticker (approx. 2 mm) without QR, working via shortcode entry on bee‑id.com – perfect for glasses, laptops or car keys.

The C-Code is an extension for existing members with an active HIVE-PASS. It has no own subscription – so you first need an active account.
Can I give the A-Code as a gift?
Yes! The A-Code can be purchased and gifted without an existing account. Whoever scans the QR code is simply guided through registration and immediately receives their HIVE-PASS for 365 days. That makes the A-Code tag the perfect gift.
What happens when my HIVE-PASS expires?
Your account and all your data are kept. Codes that need the HIVE-PASS – B codes and codes from partner products – are then locked: reports still arrive by email, but you can only read the chat again once you renew. If an annual subscription ends, we also pause your C codes until you have a HIVE-PASS again; until then, no finder can reach you through them. You can renew at any time.
Can I use multiple codes in one account?
Yes. You can activate as many codes from partner products as you like – one for each item you want to protect. With an active HIVE-PASS you can also create up to five C codes of your own and print them yourself. Start with the A-code tag and add C-code stickers or tags as needed.
In which countries does Bee-ID work?
Worldwide, wherever there's an internet connection. The interface is available in five languages (German, English, Spanish, French, Hungarian). Whether your keys are found in Portugal or Japan – the finder can communicate with you directly.
